An unofficial, fan-made playground for the 18 ASCII pets in Anthropic’s open-source claude-desktop-buddy firmware. On a real M5StickC Plus the pet lives on your desk, connects to the Claude desktop app over Bluetooth, and reacts to your Claude sessions. Here it runs the original animation code, frame for frame. Poke it.
Tap the screen to pet it. Grab the stick and shake it. A approves, B denies.
Send the device the events Claude would send. The pet reacts the way the firmware does.

claude-desktop-buddy is Anthropic’s reference firmware for Hardware Buddy, the opt-in Bluetooth API in Claude for macOS and Windows. It shows permission prompts and recent messages on a small device, and lets you approve or deny from your desk.
The pets’ C++ files are compiled as they are, against a fake display that records every character drawn at every 200 ms tick. The page replays those frames in the device’s 5×7 font, so the poses, timing and particles match the firmware.
Anthropic’s repo includes the wire protocol, flashing steps for the M5StickC Plus, and GIF character packs if you’d rather draw your own pet.
